This morning it was announced that Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald and Steelers S Troy Polamalu would grace the cover of EA Sports Madden 2010. I’m a little torn here. Obviously if this ends with Polamalu falling prey to the “Madden Curse“, I am in full support, since you know, he is an awful person and I still haven’t even forgiven him for this, much less the Super Bowl. But if this ends up with Fitz going down with a season ending injury in preseason, combined with the inevitable 2009 Kurt Warner injury (I’m projecting old-itis), and I’m forced to watch Brian St. Pierre chuck it to Early Doucet in Week 15 next year, I’m coming for you, EA Sports.

36 hours. Within the initial 36 hours of this blog, you the reader fellow writer have had the pleasure of enjoying a Suns post, a D-Backs post, and even a Coyotes post. Depressing right? With the Suns out of the playoffs, the D-Backs well on the way to 90 losses, and the Coyotes apparently still participating in some ice based stick type sport in Glendale, its time’s like these where I look longingly towards September and my chance to get back in bed with the new hot chick in town…the defending NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals (looks good in print doesn’t it?).
While the magical ride through January of 2009 was fun – there was actually a time boy and girls when the Cardinals were NOT on top of their conference. As I’m sure Cardinals fans Number’s 1 and 1(a), Will Leitch and Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon can attest it was a relatively dark *cough* century, for our beloved Cards. So while I don’t have the time or patience to bang through 100 years of Cardinals history or issue my child-like scouting report on Charley Trippi, I feel like we need to sit back and appreciate some of the greater moments in Cards history.
