Nuggets 120 Lakers 101 – Although the Lakers might go on to win this series and play in the Finals, it doesn’t change the fact that the Nuggets might actually have a better team. Even on a night in which Carmelo Anthony shot 3 for 16 and scored just 15 points, the Nuggets still had enough to win Game 4 and even the series at 2 games each. J.R. Smith picked up most of Melo’s slack – scoring 24 points including 4 of 9 from three point range to help lead Denver.

Lakers 103 Nuggets 97 – Well guess I don’t have to be nice to the Nuggets anymore. As the third quarter expired, J.R. Smith hit a three pointer over Sasha Vujacic to give Denver an 8 point lead – it was all downhill from there.  Smith, who thought he had been fouled, rose from the ground and got in Vujacic’s face, recieving a technical foul for taunting in the process.  (more…)

Earlier this evening I received a text from a friend of mine who just happens to be a Denver resident and supposed Nuggets fan. The text implored me to finally write something nice about the Nuggets. My first question was of course, “why would I do that?” – but after a few promises (she now owes me 8 back-rubs and has to act out the entire script of the classic film Zapped Again! completely by herself), I’ve agreed to be nice. Thus enjoy this Denver-ized version of the Nightcap.

Nuggets 106 Lakers 103 – OMG DENVER IS #1! That tremendous lead-in notwithstanding, the Nuggets rallied from a poor first quarter to defeat the Lakers and even the Western Conference Finals at one game a piece. (more…)
