Please stop yelling at me. Every weekday morning I get up, get ready, and hop in my car for the 35 minute commute to work. As I sit in traffic, bracing for what will likely end up being a long day of being pulled in 10 different directions, I’d like to be able to listen to some calming level-headed local sports analysis. Up until the beginning of 2009, I had that option on XTRA Sports 910 with Bickley and MJ. Although Dan Bickley can be a bit of a dolt from time to time, he does actually offer good insight. As for Mike Jurecki, the guy just provides meat and potatoes analysis, which is an appreciable trait in morning talk radio.
So when Bickley and MJ announced they were moving to drive-time a little part of me died. I’ve always been annoyed with Doug & Wolf…and now they were my only morning option for local sports talk.
Sure I could listen to Dan Patrick’s pretentious bullshit for my 35 minutes, or to Tim Brando droning on and on about college football, even in March , but I still need my fix of Cards, D-Backs, Suns, and ASU (yes, that is the order KTAR’s advertisers have chosen). But now the only direction to turn is Doug & Wolf.
Does anyone really want to be yelled at in the morning? Of course not. So why? Why, Doug and Wolf? Are you trying to make me fly into a rage on the 101? A recent study confirmed that 64%* of Valley-area incidents of road rage are Doug and Wolf related. 64%!
Thus, Doug and Wolf, I implore you to please stop yelling at me. I haven’t done anything to you. Is it money you want? I’ll write a check, just stop yelling.
